My Recovery Program

My Recovery Program

My Recovery Program is a free iPhone app built for people working a 12 step program to track their own recovery and stay connected with a sponsor.

Most sobriety trackers focus on the individual: day counts, journaling, milestones. This app adds the piece I found missing, a structured way to work with a sponsor. It handles step tracking with the actual step text for each fellowship, custom meeting attendance goals you set yourself, a daily inventory in the spirit of a 10th step, and one-time or recurring commitments like a daily call or a weekly chair. If you sponsor others, it also lets you send assignments.

The app doesn’t run on a server I control. Sponsor and sponsee communication happens through the iPhone’s own Messages app, and each person’s data syncs privately through their own iCloud account. Nothing is stored centrally, and there’s no chat system to moderate. That was a deliberate choice, not a limitation: anonymity is central to 12-step work, and I didn’t want to build something that collects or is responsible for anyone’s recovery data.

It’s currently in a small closed beta, with plans to expand to more programs and eventually Android. .
